HOW IT BEGAN
A Life Shaped by Color
My name is Clair Fareio. Originally from Las Vegas, Nevada, I now live and work in Sulmona, Italy. From a very young age, art became my private universe — a space where I could explore thoughts, emotions, and imagination freely.
Over the years, this early fascination with color and form evolved into a lifelong passion, guiding me through both everyday life and moments of reflection. Living in Italy, surrounded by landscapes, history, and culture, continues to inspire me and shape the energy and depth of my work.

THE PRACTICE
My Approach to Creating
Art has been my companion throughout life, helping me make sense of the world and my experiences within it. I approach every new piece with curiosity and openness, blending years of practice with intuition.
Each painting begins differently. Sometimes I arrive at the canvas with a clear sense of what I want to express — a feeling, a memory, a particular pull of color. Other times, the work reveals itself only as I move, layer upon layer, until something unexpected emerges. I’ve learned to trust both approaches equally.
What guides me most is the willingness to listen. To the colors as they meet. To the texture forming beneath my brush. To the quiet shifts in mood as a piece takes shape. Painting, for me, is less about controlling the outcome and more about creating space for it to arrive honestly.
My goal is always to create works that resonate emotionally, inviting the viewer into the same journey of discovery and feeling that drives me as I paint.
